Nestled in one of the first neighbourhoods in Guelph, next to Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Catholic School is a Grade Kindergarten to 8 catholic school which combines a historic past with a vibrant present.  In the June 2021, Sacred Heart Catholic School became an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) World School and will continue a journey that embraces global mindedness and inquiry-based learning.  Sacred Heart Catholic School is only one of a handful of publicly funded elementary schools in Ontario to offer the program as a fully authorized school, IB PYP World School.  For more information about the IB Primary Years Programme, please go to the IB PYP tab or visit ibo.org

In addition, our caring staff and smaller school size provides a warm, family-like environment for students.  If you are looking for a school with a heart and international standards, consider Sacred Heart Catholic School.

We offer before and after school care through an independent provider, GS Care.  For more information about the before and after school program, please check the GS Care website.

We are an inclusive community that values:

  • the school, family and community as collaborative partners in the development of the whole child
  • the cultures, faiths, identities and languages of our school community members
  • students’ potential to be contributing citizens in a global world
  • the social, emotional, spiritual, physical and intellectual well-being of our community
  • the importance of communicating in our second official language of French
  • the past, present and future experiences of indigenous peoples
  • the Earth as a gift and our common home, and promotes the protection and care for the environment, including sustainable practices, for present and future generations
  •

Acknowledgement of Traditional Territory

From the Anishinaabe to the Attawandaron, the Haudenasaunee and the Metis, these treaty lands are steeped in rich indigenous history and modern traditions. As a community, we have the responsibility to honour and respect the four directions, land, waters, plants, animals and ancestors.  Today, this area is home to many indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island.  We would like to acknowledge the Mississauga's of the Credit First Nation of the Aanishinaabek Peoples and we would like to express our gratitude for sharing these lands for our mutual benefit.   Our treaty land is Treaty 3 (Between the Lakes Purchase signed in 1792)  https://www.ontario.ca/page/map-ontario-treaties-and-reserves#t7)
