We are excited to announce that we have started a pilot partnership with the Yorklands Green Hub organization. The goal of the Yorklands Green Hub is to “create for Ontario’s public domain a self-sustaining education, demonstration, and research hub at the former Ontario Reformatory site in Guelph, Ontario”. The organization is working with our students to increase awareness of local sustainable practices. In our pilot project, the Yorklands team is working with our Grade 7/8 class to grow vegetables from seed in their classroom and then transplant them outside to a number of raised garden beds that will be located around the portable in our playground. Students will be journaling and documenting throughout the process.
